Brands Hatch race circuit information
Brands Hatch has been used for motor racing since before the war. Originally a motorcycle dirt track the circuit was surfaced in 1949 and pressed into use as a car track. It quickly became the home of 500cc Formula 3 racing and did not stage a full-blown World Championship race until 1964 when Jim Clark won in dominant style in what was a hat-trick of British Grand Prix wins.
